Journal of Hill Agriculture (JHA)

Journal of Hill Agriculture (JHA) is an international journal and the official publication of Indian Society of Hill Agriculture (ISHA). It publishes the original research papers in all branches of agriculture and allied science which are of primary interest to the agricultural development in hill and mountain regions of the whole world.

The publication is open to the members of Indian Society of Hill Agriculture but it also accepts papers from non-members if all authors become the annual/life member when a paper is submitted / accepted for publication and intimated after a review.

  Indian Society of Hill Agriculture

Indian Society of Hill Agriculture with its headquarters at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Hill Campus, Ranichauri, Distt Tehri-Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India is a registered society under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Registration No. GTG 627 dated May 25th, 2010), and has participation and representation of all hill regions of the country including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North-Eastern Hill region, Nilgiri Hills etc.

The broad aims and objectives of the society are:
  • To cultivate and promote research, education and development of agriculture in the hilly states and regions of India and whole world.
  • To recognize and support excellence achieved in scientific research and development in the field of Hill Agriculture by individual scientists, inter-disciplinary teams, recognized institutions, learned societies and industry.
  • To promote contact and co-operation among R & D personnel working in different institutions and areas and develop linkages between growers and industry.
  • To regularly bring out the Journal of Hill Agriculture and any other publication decided by the society.
  • To disseminate knowledge on all aspects of agriculture including agronomy, horticulture, plant breeding, plant protection, animal husbandry, agricultural engineering, postharvest technology, agricultural economics, agri-business management etc. and all other allied disciplines and their different aspects by holding seminars, symposia, conferences, discussions etc. and publishing the proceedings thereof.
  • To secure and manage funds and endowments for the promotion of hill agriculture in all its aspects.
  • To undertake other activities relevant to accomplish the above objectives.
